God’s Phone Number

When you adjust the thermostat in your home do you expect either heat or cold? When you turn on the water faucet or the light switch do you expect results? When we put the key in the ignition do we expect the car to start?

Obviously, the answer is YES!!

But sometimes when we do these things, we don’t get what we “thought” was going to happen! OMG, now what? Panic? Freak out? Well maybe at first, but then we get our DIY hat on, or we call the repairman. Why?  We want the issue resolved. Trust works like this too.  When we claim a promise from God, we expect it to happen!!

Hebrews 11:1 KJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb 11:1 AMP Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].

But like doing a DIY job or calling the repairmen, if we aren’t getting the desired results with a particular answer from God, what do we do? Maybe anxiety, worry or doubt? (aka GIANTS in our lives!)

Well, there are so many times when God encourages us to trust Him, and maybe we have Goliath’s too?  Fear, discouragement, loneliness, resentment, or anger giants? These things are all human traits that I suppose we must all face down at times, but there are answers, and there is HOPE!

Jeremiah 32:17 KJV  17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

Jeremiah 32:27 KJV 27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?

My advice? Use God’s phone number! 😊

Jeremiah 33:3 KJV  Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Psalm 145:18 KJV 18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Why?

Proverbs 2:6-8 KJV For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Let’s call upon the Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, and not just when there is an issue, but always and all the time!

Psalm 18:1-3 KJV I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”-Corrie ten Boom

  1. God Bless you and Vikki.

One fruit of the Spirit that requires trust in God is patience. Think about this. Perhaps a Gem would be to connect patience to trusting our Father?
