We have grown in our society to a point where there are a lot of overworked, overburdened, and stressed-out people. Christians too are among them. This is not a good thing.
I think God designed us to live uncomplicated and simple lives, but we have allowed the pressures of this world and other things to crowd out the beauty of living a life of balance.
“God has made us plain and simple, but we have made ourselves very complicated.” Eccl. 7:29 NLT
As I move forward, I want to keep my life one of ease and grace. Maybe that is something worth fighting for, huh? Lord, hear our prayer for these four things:
- Simplicity to bring contentment and rest.
- Silence to allow for a hearing heart and direction.
- Solitude to enable transformation and purpose.
- Surrender to give true freedom and humility.
With all the chaos and unnecessary activity in today’s world, do these things sound refreshing to you?
