Looking Ahead

“In the Christian life there is no substitute for the keen awareness that the Shepherd is nearby.  There is nothing like Christ’s presence to dispel the fear, the panic, the terror of the unknown.”   A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23 by Phillip Keller (p37,38)

May my life reflect the care of a shepherd; as one who feeds, protects, guides, and familiarizes himself with the flock.

Father, my heart is to lead those entrusted to my care, to rich pastureland where they can feed and lie down to rest and ruminate.

Help me to be who you have called me to be and that Christ may arise in me to accomplish greater things than I could do in my own strength.

As all of us grow in our walk with you, it becomes apparent that keeping you first is critical to seeing victory in living, but I have noticed that even when we fall short you are there.  Always hopeful, always kind, always caring.

Your care for us is like no other, for we truly are your people and the sheep of your pasture.
