Hidden In Plain Sight

In the deep recess of my inner man heart,

I find an ache and cry and groan that reaches out from there.

Is there more I can do and how I can be a better part?

Of the One Body thinking and in showing Your loving care.

***

Oh, my Father, what are You telling me?

Where is the answer to my purpose and direction?

Can I live a fulfilled life of praise?

Can my joy be truly overflowing?

***

In Your presence is that fullness of joy.

Help me to arrive there with open arms.

With a willing heart and a passionate desire,

To supernaturally serve.

***

I accept there are many paths in front of me,

And many roads to choose.

I need Your wisdom to see the road with vision,

And to walk with praise, honoring Your heavenly provision.

***

I love You my God.

I desire to be aware of Your presence.

Never alone, never afraid.

For You compass me on all sides as I rest or move.

***

To have confidence in You is a worthy goal,

Not to have figured it all out.

But to know that You can be relied on.

To offer wisdom, truth, and hope.

***

There may be many others that can offer insight,

And wise counsel beyond their years.

But I truly crave those heavenly thoughts,

And wisdom for my ears.

***

Oh God my Father,

Here’s the outpouring of my desire,

Trying to say what no words can really say,

So please, look into my heart, and bring Your wisdom today.

***

Every aspect, every hair,

All my ways and thoughts.

I give all and surrender all,

Considering your glory and grace.

***

I can only say You are my first love,

The one to whom I really look.

Although distracted by the things of the flesh,

I lay it all down at the altar of Jesus’ finished work.

***

My anticipation and expectation Lord,

It to locate the path You’ve provided.

Knowing it’s Your will with refreshing supply,

To serve and give and live wholeheartedly.

***

The burdens in this life we carry,

When so many things should have been buried.

Why not give it up? Knowing the pull of Your heart,

Is to see Your children peaceful and blessed.

***

Living as wealthy healthy ones,

In this world of troubled care.

Your chosen ones can rise above this world’s burdens,

Knowing Christ, we have love to share.

***

Joy in the presence is my strength

Where are You?

I need You and pray to You,

To return and refresh my inner being.

***

Ah, there You are!!

You’ve been here all along!!

I just was looking for You elsewhere.

***

So silly of me to look all around, without realizing You have been here all the time.

***

You are hidden in plain sight.

  1. Barney, I cried when reading this. It touched my very soul. Our God is with us every moment of the day yet we forget it all too often in this world that Satan tries to destroy. Thank you for such a loving reminder of who we are in Christ.
