Psalm 33:12 KJV
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
Having recently returned from a 12-day travel adventure to Washington DC, the reality
of what we have been blessed with in this country has resonated deep within all of us.
On September 4, 2025, Vikki and I along with Joe and Jeanette Evans started a road
trip to our nation’s capital. Joe and I were extended an invitation to be a part of a
pastor’s conference in Washington hosted by Wallbuilder’s. (www.wallbuilders.com).
This became the catalyst for us to start planning again to visit our nation’s capital.
WOW! What a journey it was! I almost do not know where to begin but I will attempt to
highlight some of the places we visited and the things that resonated in our hearts.
Our very first excursion was to the Museum of the Bible and little did we know (until my
brother texted me) that the President would be speaking there that morning. (White
House Committee on Religious Liberty) Of course that added to the excitement and thrill of being in Washington and certainly the beginning of an experience that I’m sure has changed us all. Although security was quite evident, we did see the President’s
motorcade go by us after his event with him waving from the back of his vehicle. We
were all inspired to say a short prayer for him and the nation.
Obviously, there are so many historical examples both in the Museum of the Bible and
throughout the Washington area that time and space do not allow a thorough review of
them all, but here are a few visited: US Capitol (tour hosted by David and Tim Barton of Wallbuilder’s); The Library of Congress (location of the pastor’s conference), hosted by David and Tim Barton with approximately 10 congressman and senators as speakers.
When visiting Washington, it is literally impossible to not grasp the history and the
struggles that our nation has gone through, both in its founding and continuing up to the present day. As I walked through the halls and rooms of some of our unique tributes
and memorials to those original founders and home to our current government
operation, I spoke prayers of perfection, as God has given us the ability to do so.
Spiritually, I was just so thankful to know the scriptures with the reality of God’s
presence within and had a wonderful sense of peace.
I believe being in that environment has helped me and encouraged me to be more
proactive in introducing others to the freedom and liberty they seek.
Our historical roots have arisen from a strong belief in God, family and country and as
we endeavor to protect these rights, it presses upon me an even deeper truth, and that
is that there is a spiritual freedom available to every man, woman and child who
believes in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
